The Finisher

Here is a recent post by Adrian Bozman at SanFrancisco Crossfit in which he discusses the simple idea behind a “finisher” to a workout – to overcome one’s weakness. Adrian recommends working in a few sets of the thing in which you need the most improvement after the day’s WOD. Someone who needs better lung capacity should do a short sprint or two. Someone who needs better upper body strength (think all of us at fahbg) should do a few sets of presses or weighted pull ups.

I need to think on this a bit longer, but I’m close to recommending that we all start working on certain uppper-body finishers: weighted pullups, presses, or muscle-up progressions. In fact that’s it. I’ll start including these in our weekly workout schedules. Thank you, adrian, for your inspiration. And for making a 500 lb ass sound like cold watermelon on an August afternoon.
