Father Andrew's Hot Body Gym

The Team

Started officially in May of 2009, Father Andrew’s Hot Body Gym is currently a small group dedicated to the “second gospel” of Crossfit. We workout to keep our bodies and minds at peak condition, in hopes of fulfilling our divine mandate of “creation-care” and to join Crossfitters across the globe in forging elite fitness. Our motto: Your body is a temple… MAKE IT HOTT!

The Team - Nov. 7th 2009

Coach Josh

Coach Josh

Josh came to us from Washington, DC. Since the summer of 2008, Josh has been pushing all of us to greater levels of endurance and fitness than we thought possible. “Coach” Josh is a Level One certified Crossfit instructor.

Mara

Mara

Mara did not know what she was getting into when she married Josh. Originally from the western U.S., she came to Tallahassee for graduate school and ended up with six pack abs and a brand new diet. Mara is also Level One certified, and works hard to keep the team on task and in good form.

Abby

Abby

Abby is the resident team bad@$$. She is dead serious about getting fit, and loves throwing big weight around. Abby plans to get certified in Nutrition.

Micah

Micah

Micah works hard to keep the group grounded and having a good time. He enjoys the variety of the Crossfit regiment, and appreciates the community feeling it creates. He plans to get certified in the gymnastics area. Micah also slaves away as the team’s webmaster, and physically HAS to workout to combat all the time he spends in front of a computer.

Andrew

Andrew

Andrew is the key ingredient. Arriving in town fresh out of Duke Seminary, he supports our efforts to get physically fit, as well as pushing us to be spiritually and emotionally fit. Without Andrew, the gym would be a locationless jumble. His encouragement and passion for life at its fullest provides a solid core to the team.
